Childcare Programs

Our Philosophy

OLPH Childcare Centre is a Catholic childcare centre and therefore the Catholic faith is integrated into all aspects of childcare programming.  Our Lady of Perpetual Help Childcare Centre is a safe environment for children ages three months to five years. Our purpose is to enhance each child’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. We believe that all children have the right to quality care, and we value and respect children of all races, religion, culture, and abilities. We attain quality care through providing children with and families with flexible, loving and stimulating atmospheres where independence is encouraged, and self-esteem is developed. We believe that children learn through emergent play and thus we provide enriching play-based exploration from which the children learn and grow.

We strive to create a loose-parts and open creative space of learning for the child(ren), that will allow the children to be safe while learning and know that they are essential in our childcare community. We ensure that all abilities physically and mentally, along with their stages in development, have easy and comfortable access to our building. The interior layout and materials as well as use of our outdoor play space. We appreciate, welcome, and utilize the natural environment to be the third teacher in learning with the children. We take care in preparing an emergent play space and interactive curriculum of open learning whereby everyone will be able to fully participate in all daily activities.

It is our belief that children learn best in an emerging learning environment surrounded by an atmosphere of love, enthusiasm, and fun.  Each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature. Combining a program that is both child-centered and structured, we provide experiences, resources and activities that promote positive development in each child’s social, physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Our educators work together to ensure a comfortable, physical environment that is safe, supports risk taking, and invites the sharing of ideas. Activities and themes enrich the program with fun, exciting, interactive, and hands-on learning experiences for the children. Providing a curriculum that is based on the children’s interest allows them to feel confident, interested and encourages them in further exploration.

Our Centre is thrilled to let you know that we are a part of the HiMama Family.
